For 10 years now and more than 300 performances, Jean-Paul Dub (Pablo Géléoc) travels to France and abroad (Belgium, Poland, Canada, Ukraine, …) to broadcast his music: an ethnic reggae-dub to multiple influences and marked by the spirit « Dub it yourself » of the 90s.
From 2007, Pablo produced his music with software and recording the instruments of his fellow musicians crossed on the road: violin, saxophone or harmonica. Soon, he shares the poster with references to dub music such as Zion Train, Vibronics or Zenzile but also with some of the jewels of the French alternative scene such as Pneu or Rubin Steiner. In 2009 he will cross the young singer Nâaman at random Norman sound systems, Pablo will invite him to sing on his productions accompanied by his other musician friends with whom he made his second album Step by Step in 2009. In 2011, he creates the label « Vaticaen Production » first to release his own EP and albums in digital, CD and vinyl. Quickly, compilations (Vaticaen Box 1 and 2) for free download on which we find respected dubmakers are born (Brain Damage, Panda Dub or Ondubground). In 2013 he released New Cuts on the Marée Bass label, which brings together 12 audio tracks and 3 video clips. In 2015, Svaha released Worlds Inside, which was rather well received by the dub networks, it will be played with several musicians on a few dates and will be nominated for reggae wins in 2016. In 2016, he produces the compilation « Dubs for Syria » in support of the victims of the war and collaborates with Soom T for the realization of the title « No more War » which will become the opening song of the compilation.
After collaborating with some twenty musicians in live since 2009 (Step by Step), Pablo plays again his productions since 2017 with a computer, a MIDI controller and a melodica. This simple and efficient configuration makes it possible to offer different versions for each service and to travel light. In 2017/2018 he plays in Kiev, in Montreal invited by the crew Pull Up Selecta, on the WoodBlocks Sound System in the old butchers of Prague and recently at the parties Psychill in Paris or at the festival Wadada in Finistère.
In parallel with his activities as a music producer, Pablo produces short and medium-length animated films for monumental video projections with the collective of videographers he created in 2011: Bandit Visions. In 2015, the collective won the 2nd prize in the Chartres en Lumières video mapping contest with « Vie sur Zira », released in parallel on the album « New Cuts » in 2013. Since projects of this type are linked with the University from Caen, the Normandy Region or the Audiovisual Meeting of Lille. The soundtracks are often composed and produced with his brother, also composer, Thibault Géléoc or with other friends like DJ Bluff.
